j-yphoto.tumblr.com turned one today! When I first created an account, I really didn’t think that I would keep up with this. In the beginning, I was aiming for a photo diary to keep record of college years/20s or whatever, but it became something between a photo blog/diary kind of a thing.
This past year, by getting a dslr, I have learned to shoot vertically. By posting on Tumblr, I learned to hold my camera straighter (& composition). And by studying the works of others on Tumblr, I learned to see the beauty in black and white. It’s been such a fun year getting to know so many people here, and the interest you’ve shown in my work really lets me keep on posting. I greatly appreciate all the kind words you sent out my way.
This post would never end if I mentioned everyone, but I would still like to mention the ‘first’. Big thank you to the first followers of mine: aperture24, knr55 & minimalseoul. I am so thankful and amazed that they followed me when my blog wasn’t really a photo blog.. I had no idea where I was going with my blog, and their follow made me think that it’d be cool to post like them. :)
My thank you also goes out to harryschuler as he was the first to give me any kind of feedback on my work, and his first comment really encouraged me to continue on with my posting. Also for teaching me how to make you-know-what. ;) He is such a wonderful photographer with his B&W and landscape photos.
And my last thank you is the famous thevortexofourminds/ tvoom who was there to answer all of my questions I threw at him. I didn’t know anyone on Tumblr, and I had a lot of questions. Thankfully, I followed Pete, and he was always so patient and kind to answer my questions. We all know that he posts lovely photos, right? So many favorite photos there :)
I hope for another great year. & If you are an original photographer and would like me to check out your work, please give me a shout. Thank you!
Do people get happy tumblr birthday things in email? Well, I didn’t…And I had a little bit of time before dinner, so I doodled that awkward cupcake thing really fast. I’m not an art major, okay?…
